Robert A. Walker

Robert Arnold Walker of Caro, age 76, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014 at his home. He was born March 21, 1937 in Cass City, the son of the late Dilles W. and Lila M. (Loomis) Walker. Bob retired on July 1, 1993 from the GM Lake Orion Plant as a forklift operator after thirty-two years of employment. He was united in marriage with Shirley (Arft) Kish on July 24, 1999 at the First Baptist Church of Caro, and she survives him. Bob loved hunting, woodworking, crafts (his e-mail name was "craftybob"), spending time with family, camping, trips and vacations. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Caro. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Walker of Caro; his four children, Kenneth & Peggy Walker of Indiana, Dan & Tina Walker of North Branch, Tony & Debbie Walker of Lapeer, Renee & Mike Stampfer of Almont; Shirley's children, Debbie & Greg Maurer of Ubly, Tammy & Rod Walsh of Caro, Sherry Kish of Cass City, Greg & Melissa Kish of Clinton Township; siblings, Raymond Walker, Bertha & George Alley, Richard & Debbie Walker, Harold Walker, Norm & Mina Haggadone, Jerry & Patsy Haggadone, Bill & Sue Haggadone; several grand- and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Ann on November 30, 1997; granddaughter, Stefanie Lynn Walker on May 8, 1984; two brothers, Leo Paul and John Walker; three sisters, Elsie Walker, Marion Mapes and Noreen Hoolbrook Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Caro First Baptist Church with Pastor Marc Herron officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Robert Walker Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Shirley Walker, 205 W.
